Certifications for L&D Nurses

In addition to the requisite NRP and ACLS what other certification have you guys found to be helpful in L&D? What about also (advanced life support in obstetrics)?

Obtain your RNC. It validates your competency in obstetrics. Study .....

By all means get your RNC . It is a hard test but you feel great the first time you sign your name with RNC. It is well worth the effort.:nurse: Ps:yeah::typings- from a nurse who is RNC

There are varying RNCs, as well. Most RNCs who work L/D at my facility have their RNC in Inpatient OB, whereas the mother/baby & nursery folks have theirs in either Maternal-Newborn Nursing or Low-Risk Neonatal. Just something to keep in mind.

I'm going to sit for my RNC this year in Maternal-Newborn.

hi all, I n response to the certifications I wish they would offer a high risk antepartum certificaton. I will probably test for the maternal newborn ex am next. luck to all jan:typing:nurse:
