Certification Differential

i dont know much about obtaining certifications and receiving a pay differential. ive heard about a certified oncology nurse or certified peds nurse....anyone have info any other certifications and their criteria??thanks :)

You can go to the individual nurse specialty organization's website and probably get information regarding the requirements needed for board certification. It usually is a test that must be taken; but, the prerequisites are different. For instance, being board certified in Emergency Nursing (CEN) requires a test, but does not have a requirement of having a certain number of hours worked in that specialty, as does the CCRN (board certification for Critical care Nursing). Information for the CEN can be found on the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) website http://www.ena.org
