Cerritos Nursing Program Newbie

Hi All,

Does anyone know what clinics/hospitals Cerritos College assign nursing student to?

Thanks,

Hello,

I recently graduated from Cerritos College Nursing program and I have added the link from their student handbook that includes the clinical sites. The sites begin on page 44.

Thank you so much ma238. Also, i am considering between Golden West nursing program and Cerritos Nursing program. How is your general opinion about Cerritos? I got accepted in GWC nursing program for Spring 2012, then Cerritos sent me a letter to inform that they may have spot for the alternate in Spring 2012 and have me to sent them my TEAS score. I am doing some research about the programs. And i heard that the instructors at CC are really helpful and much more easy going with the students, is that right?

No problem utut,

yea i really enjoyed Cerritos, it's tough but you come out a better nurse in the end :) Regarding instructors at Cerritos, I was very fortunate to be with mostly full time instructors and they were approachable, some may be a little intimidating but well trained, intelligent, and great at what they do.

Wherever you decide to go, best wishes!

I'm almost finished with Cerritos and like it. I'm ready to be done! I've been to Downey, Lakewood, Long Beach Memorial/Miller Children's, and Anaheim hospitals. Golden West would've been better as far as distance and hospitals go because it's a LOT closer to my house and the community I'd like to work in. I know two GWC grads who said the program was good.

Hi Apgar, so far, did you see students who got kicked out at Cerritos Nursing program? I ve heard about that a lot at other schools. I'm so worrying.:uhoh3:

Yes, students have failed their lecture or clinicals, but everyone (unless they have flat out unsafe practice) gets a second chance to repeat the lecture or clinical they failed. After that, they are out. I know of one person in my two years. I'm sure there are others.

Hey utut, the same thing actually happened to me with Cerritos. I just got a letter about 2 weeks ago that they have a spot for me for spring 2012. I was hesistant at first because I wanted to get into a bsn program but I figured I might as well start somewhere now than later and I have 2 friends that have done the program and they said they liked it a lot. Are you going to be attending in spring 2012?

Thanks Apgar10

Hi Van22,

Really glad to meet you here. I'm looking for a friend at CC right now:) Actually, i got accepted at GWC nursing program for spring2012. I'm doing the paper works to turn in, then i got the message from Cerritos. After doing some research at some of my friends at GWC, then go through the ratemyprofessor website, my heart is more at Cerritos. I also think about a BSN program, i almost done with my requirements for tranferring this semester, but i know that it is really competitive at the 4 year college right now. I heard that once you have your ADN, when transferring, you will be at upper division which is easier. I think even though it takes more time, but i am not single any more, so it's better route for me. I will be at the orientation next week, hope to see you there.
