CEP Fall 2018

There are 2 deadlines a year (unless they've changed it, which I doubt). The next deadline after January 31st is May 31st. So, if you miss January, just finish up with your pre-reqs and get everything else you need (HESI, fingerprint clearance etc.) and turn in your application for the May deadline. If you are accepted after that deadline, you'll start classes in the Fall with the university that you choose, and then block 1 with the Maricopa college in the spring the following year.

Of course, it is up to you, but since you can still partner with ASU with the CEP system, but the cost overall is far lower, I would strongly urge you to apply to the CEP for the May deadline, and then if you don't get in start looking at other options.

Sorry kind of random. I know this question was already answered but I am also applying to CEP Fall 2018 at MCC. I was mainly interested in applying to ASU/MCC but can you apply to other colleges at the same time?

Hi -

You are allowed to apply for up to 3 community colleges (you rank them in order of preference) and then 1 University. There are currently 5 Universities (or 6 if you included GCU, but that's for the MSN, and you need to have a previous bachelors degree). UIU (Upper Iowa University) has certain requirements regarding hybrid applicants...(I *think* that means if you will be doing some of your classes with Iowa in person at their classes held in the east valley, as opposed to all online).

I strongly suggest that you research each university, their pre-reqs, credit-hour costs, whether they offer scholarships, whether they accept the agreement that allows you to share your FAFSA grant across the schools etc. You may have your heart set on one particular University, of course!

In addition to the above comments, you can do a lot while you wait. You could obtain you CNA and then get hands on knowledge, training and experience. I have been told Block 1 covers a lot of the same info, so it may give you a slight one up. You could also continue with classes depending upon your school choice. I personally chose FPU. Tpo of the required courses are REL and CIS. I can take those classes this spring at Maricopa before officially starting. The benefit to me doing that is that once I start the program, I will only have to enroll in the block maricopa course during fall and spring, then can take the remaining FPU coursework during the summer. That allows me to focus on the blocks and not have to worry about busy work.

Yes - this is a new "rule". I suggest reading through all the brochures (available on the CEP website) and making sure you select the one that works best for you.
