Hi All!
I am a RN living in Miami Beach. I passed the boards in March 2010 and gave birth to my second daughter 3 months later. I have not worked since giving birth and am taking the time right now to be a mom, however I am just wondering about continuing education requirements in Florida. I would certainly like to keep my license current and was just wondering if anyone knew what the continuing education requirements are in Florida or where I can access this information, and what the best way is to go about pursuing CE courses while I am not employed.
Any advice is much appreciated! Happy holidays to everyone!

Hello. I agree with the writer who suggests that you contact your state board of nursing . Regarding your question of the "best way to go about persuing continuing education", I think the best way when one is working is through the employer--some nursing departments are surprisingly great at offering continuing education options for staff! When one is not working, I think one of the most user friendly ways to earn continuing education requirements is through use of professionally approved nursing web sites on the Internet--the site I used was approved for my state, only cost a total of thirty dollars per year, provided tons of topic choices, and provided the option for you to print documentation sheets proving you had earned the credits. Best wishes!
