CE confusion?!?
Thank you! Yes that is what I assumed, but when I keep getting pestered with them, in a countdown sequence, I just had to put it out there to everyone to ensure that there wasn't something that I was missing. I did visit the Florida dept of health site to make sure, and I believe that according to that I am good...but I guess just with all the email notices I keep getting I just wanted to get some other opinions! Thanks!

CE confusion?!?
Hi I keep getting email notifications that it is almost time to complete my CE requirements for my license renewal but I thought I was all up to date and I can't determine if some of these emails are advertisements or legit. I went on the florida dept of health site (I am licensed in Florida) and I am still confused... I was licensed in April 2010 and my license does not expire until april 2013... can someone please help me understand what my requirements are for this first renewal period? I want to ensure that I am all up to date! Thank you!

Concierge Nursing
Thank you for the comments it really helps. I am looking into acquiring CLC (lactation counseling certification) as well as taking some other relevant training courses to help better prepare myself for this possibility. I would certainly NOT be taking the place of regular pre-natal care, and would only attend the birth at the client's request. I know this may sound strange, but I am currently working in home health, not OB/Gyn, however working in home health has offered me unique perspective on the importance of quality, individualized and specialized patient care which I think can be valuable in this potential venture. I am also a mother of 2 and have counseled many friends through pregnancy and childbirth etc...I know that is not a qualifying factor as to my abilities , but it certainly encourages me to want to move forward with this... Other thoughts?

Concierge Nursing
I need some advice. I was considering starting my own "concierge nursing service" if you will that caters mostly to pregnant women and focuses and pre-natal, and post partum care of mother and baby, lactation counseling and other areas of care. How can I go about this? Is it with in the "scope of practice" of and RN to offer these services to individuals. I have researched this concept and it seems that it would be both lucrative and enjoyable but I want to make sure I have the logistics and legalities in order. Thoughts?

CE in Miami, Fl.
Hi All! I am a RN living in Miami Beach. I passed the boards in March 2010 and gave birth to my second daughter 3 months later. I have not worked since giving birth and am taking the time right now to be a mom, however I am just wondering about continuing education requirements in Florida. I would certainly like to keep my license current and was just wondering if anyone knew what the continuing education requirements are in Florida or where I can access this information, and what the best way is to go about pursuing CE courses while I am not employed. Any advice is much appreciated! Happy holidays to everyone!
