According to AACN.org, to sit for the CCRN exam "critical care practice as a registered nurse is required for 1,750 hours in direct bedside care of (adult, neonatal or pediatric) acutely or critically ill patients during the 2-year period preceding date of application, with 875 of those hours accrued in the most recent year preceding application." Does anyone know what this means? Specifically, can you sit for the CCRN if you have only one year of critical care experience (i.e., attained your RN certification one year prior to the exam), PROVIDED that you had 1,750 hours of direct bedside care during that year? Or, are you required to have been an RN for two years with two years of critical care practice experience prior to taking the exam?
Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

There is no time requirement, only a practice hour requirement as per the website.
Thanks!!!
