CCRN for NICU nurses

Over the next year, I am planning to accomplish my goals to become CCRN certified. I would like to know if anyone knows of a rewiew for CCRN Neonatal (I know they exist) in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky or Ohio. I've contacted several people and I feel like I'm running in circles with the. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

In addition, any good books or prep tips would be helpful as well...hope to hear from you soon!

The NICU version of CCRN is called NICN (neonatal intensive care nurse) and you can just google that term for the credentialing agency for that certification. I think it's the ACC or NCC, something like that. I am also planning on trying to do it, but have to get 2000 hours experience first. Hope this helps

I believe there are two difference certifications. The one through NCC is the RNC certification (the test is "high risk neonatal nursing"). There is also a CCRN I believe. Different areas of the country and different hospitals lean towards one or the other. I think the RNC is much more common than the CCRN.

We had a discussion about this a few months back on this forum. Try searching for that and it might help clarify things.

Visit http://www.nicusolutions.org. They offer a comprehensive review 2x/yr in Oakbrook, Illinois. The next is in Feb. I highly recommend it....very organized with great presenters and lots of info. All the info presented is what you need to know to pass the exam (RNC or CCRN). Either one is acceptable. They have close to 100% of those taking the course passing the exam. I took the course and passed the RNC (I thought the test was very easy, but that is my opinion).
