CCBC Spring 2017

Ok so I am taking a big chance hear and gearing up to apply for the RN program for Spring 2017. Its a big chance because I still need Human Anatomy 1 & 2 and microbiology. Im taking two of these classes next fall. My gpa right now is a 3.05 and I am planning on taking my teas at the end of June. Im hoping my extracurricular activities like me doing medical missions trips and my work experience(I work in a hospital) will be looked at when entering. Also I plan on scoring really high on the teas test. Ive been studying my butt off non stop with the teas test book. I know its a slim chance because i haven't finished my sciences yet but I am hopeful. What are everyone else's credentials? scores? gap? if you have them!

Hey, I was just accepted for this fall 2016. I got a 75% on the teas. 81 in reading, 86 in grammar. 66 in math and 69 in science. My Science Gpa was a 2.95 and overall a 3.45. My only C in my prereqs was in A&p 2. I didn't have any extracurricular but i did accumulate over 60 credits so I think that helped. I took courses like nutrition, ethics, health etc to help boost my gpa while I was waiting to apply and Made all A's.

Did you have all of your sciences done?

Yup I could have applied for fall 2015 but I wanted to boost my gpa & took forever to take the TEAS lol

I'm going into my third semester at CCBC. I can say from asking the same questions as you that they don't seem to look at your TEAS as much as your sciences. (Just my opinion from what I have heard get denied and heard get accepted) Having hospital experience is hit or miss--some professors say that it can be helpful (for obvious reasons) others say it isn't because it can expose you to bad habits early on and then they are hard to break during school. When I applied, I was in microbiology so don't worry about that! I would highly recommend looking into the ATB programs because that is the bread and butter for your future. There are classes that the ATB programs (or really any BSN program) will want at time of application or soon there after. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions:)

I am applying to CCBC ATB PROGRAM for Spring 2017. I am completing my last prerequisite, microbiology and will later on take the Teas V. Anyone applying to the Catonsville campus?

I am applying to the Essex campus for SPRING 2017. How did you guys end up doing on your TEAS test?

I'm taking the teas test in 2 weeks. How did you perform? And do u also have other schools in your lists?

Good luck! I am sure you will do great! I have harford community college as well- I am sticking with community colleges. I already have a Bachelor's degree in biology so I will be paying for this degree out of pocket. These are my scores:

Adjusted Individual Total Score: 87.3%

ATI academic preparedness level: Advanced

National mean: 64.3%

Program Mean: 64.9%

National percentile rank: 97

Program percentile rank: 98

What date are you taking them? Be careful taking them too close because my test was on 7/28 and they put 7/29 as the date. I would hate for them to date them after the due date

I'm taking the teas on the August 12th. Are u doing the ATB dual program

Any advice concerning the teas test

First, make sure you buy the ATI TEAS V manual. Every subject on the test is in that manual. I took one of the practice tests in the back of the book and graded each section. This will help you know which sections to focus on more than others. After studying the sections, I took the other practice test in the book and graded that. I watched videos on youtube (khan academy is really good) and then purchased an online practice test. Honestly, take as many tests as possible. There are free ones online too that you can use. Each time it helps you increase your score.
