Cca

I had applied for an LPN position by CCA a few months ago. I have a message today on my voicemail from them. From what I have read, they don't seem to be a good company to work for. Now, I am having second thoughts, if I would even want to work there. I had interviewed for a county jail postion several months ago. Although, I did apply for this prison position, I am now feeing somewhat intimidated about working in a prison. Well, especially since I have read that CCA is not that great. This prison is in Ohio.

I left CCA in 2006 and am still STILL waiting on back pay that they owe me. I have had to threaten to contact an attorney. I worked in a primarily medium/minimum security facility and truly felt more in danger than I ever did working in a state maximum security/death row facility. I was and am not impressed with the company. But, I suppose that really depends on who is running the department. When I started there the HSA was someone I would have taken a bullet for....then, the company hired one after another person with no correctional experience. These guys invariably knew the ins and outs of corrections much better than we vets! I have worked for better companies, that's for sure! I liked PHS and CMS alot! Now I work CCS and am SOOOOO impressed.

Good luck!
