CBC Interpretation

Published

I am currently take Pharmacology 2 and we are learning about the Immune system and we have to interpret a CBC for our test.

1) I was just wondering if anyone had an easy way to interpret WBC, Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, Basophils?

2) Also if anyone know an easy way to remember what the imbalance of each component of the CBC cause? For example: increase in Neutrophils cause infection or inflammation & a decrease cause viral infection, immunocompromised or bone marrow suppression.

I am sure this is a typo, but increased numbers of neutrophils do not cause infection or inflammation, but are an indication that this may be occurring.
