Cath lab to OR?

Just wondering has anyone heard of or known people to go into the OR from the cath lab?

I haven't, but that's because our cath lab is exclusively staffed by RCIS in the procedural area.

Are those RNs?

No, they are another health care professional.

Oh I see. I have never heard of those before. Do they do all the scrubbing in, etc? Are they used at small hospitals or anywhere?

Interesting. So it sounds like an RN can get this certification.

I worked for a small amount of time in a cath lab holding/recovery area before I went into the OR and I know that a few of the casual RNs who worked in the labs worked second jobs in ORs.
