CAREER help

I have been in the dental field as an assistant for 10 years. I hate working in a dental office. The Dentists are jerks and only care about helping them make money. I cannot stand being in a dental office. I get anxiety just seeing a dental office.

I'm currently in the process of applying to school but in torn between dental hygiene and Nursing. I'll only take dental hygiene because it's great pay and the hours are great, plus there are lots of jobs available. I'm interested in nursing bc I love the reproductive field/obstetrics/breastfeeding...but I fear nursing school bc all of the nurses that I know talk about how awful nursing is. I'm also afraid that it will be harder to find a job as a fertility nurse/ob nurse outside of a hospital. I do NOT want to work in a hospital.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Doctors can be jerks too. Only a minority nurses work in settings outside of the hospital if they want to work in women's health. (generally when they get burned out plus they will want you to have experience so you will likely have to do some hospital work ) Best thing I can tell you is to look into Medical assistant. They work in a DR office (M-F, few evenings, holidays, and weekends). Decent pay for that schedule.

curious why you would consider Dental hygiene if you can't stand being in the dentist office?
