  1. I'm considering nursing school, but I have a few things stopping me. The nurses that i personally know have been talking me out of it. They tell me that nurses are overrated. So I thought I'd reach out to other nurses for advice. What is the "super difficult" part of nursing? I mean, obviously it's a hard program, but for you nurses, what's the hardest part? As far as clinicals, what is it like? Do you have to participate with procedures or do you just watch? I'm not really sqeamish, but the thing that I'm worried about is coming across a seriously ill child, and getting emotional. I fear that I'm not an emotionally strong person when it comes to things like that. Like it would be hard for me see that. Does this type of feeling eventually go away, or is this a sign that I would not do well in nursing? After nursing school, do i HAVE to work in a hospital? I really hate hospitals and do not want to work in one. My plan is to become a fertility nurse/ obgyn nurse/ Ibclc...I'd rather work in a clinic. But, I guess I'm really asking what is it like in nursing school? The good and the bad. I know these are silly questions, but I'm looking to get out of my career in the dental field, and i'm almost 30years old and want to make the right decisions reguarding my career. thank you

I have been in the dental field as an assistant for 10 years. I hate working in a dental office. The Dentists are jerks and only care about helping them make money. I cannot stand being in a dental office. I get anxiety just seeing a dental office. I'm currently in the process of applying to school but in torn between dental hygiene and Nursing. I'll only take dental hygiene because it's great pay and the hours are great, plus there are lots of jobs available. I'm interested in nursing bc I love the reproductive field/obstetrics/breastfeeding...but I fear nursing school bc all of the nurses that I know talk about how awful nursing is. I'm also afraid that it will be harder to find a job as a fertility nurse/ob nurse outside of a hospital. I do NOT want to work in a hospital. Any suggestions? Thank you
  3. Hi all, can an LPN open a pregnancy center? Or women's health clinic? can an LPN start a business? What else can we do besides typical "staff/bedside" nursing? any ideas? I'm very interested in pregnancy/women's health. Thanks in advance

I he thought about becoming a doula. The only thing is, I have an almost 1 year old, so the on-call schedule wouldn't work. í ½í¸”

The stress is from the Dentists. They're awful. I've been around a few and they're all the same. (From MY experience). I've been doing this for 11 years and I'm over it. My anxiety is also coming from the fact that I hate coming to work but I have to. they make it known that there "better than us". I just want more independence. I want to feel like I'm actually helping patients. Right now I feel like I'm scamming patients to make the Dentist more money.

Hey there so I am a dental assistant looking to get into nursing. I have no college experience. I really hate my job/field, but LOVE OBGYN /women's health. My goal is to become an RN, but for right now until I start my school in to become an RN, I want to get out of my job and work somewhere in the women's health field.vmy job gives me bad anxiety. I feel sick in the mornings before work. But this is all I know. any suggestions on what I can do The Obgyn/ women's health field, considering all I've done is dentistry for 11 years?
  9. Hi there, I'm currently in the dental field and absolutely hate it. I've always wanted to go into nursing (OB to be exact), but I've felt like I needed to stay within my field bc that's all I know. (I've been doing this for 10years). My goal is to become an OB nurse in a clinic. I don't really want to work in the hospital. Then become a WHNP. I really hate what I do to the core. So I was thinking, maybe I could start from the bottom and work my way up? Go for CNA ( to get the heck out of my field and get some nursing experience), then start my prerequisites? I just hate the fact that I'm older and starting his later. I'm 30 with no college degree. So I will be in school for like 7 years . Does se anyone know where I could start my prereqs in the NYC area? I live in Brooklyn,NY. Also any advice, suggestions, positive motivation? ☺️ Thanks ❤️
