Care plan books

Hello to all!

I am a nursing instructor and need your input. I am in search of a book to help students with care plans - all they have is Mosby's "Guide to Care Plans" -

--what is out there that you have found most helpful as a student?

Thanks for any advice you can offer! Dawn

During my program, I utilized "Prentice Hall Nursing Diagnosis Handbook". It has the NANDA approved diagnoses, NIC interventions, and NOC outcomes. I found it to be an excellent resource for getting started of building care plans for clinical.

I've been using the 7th ed version of Nursing Care Plans: Diagnoses, Interventions, and Outcomes. It's by Meg Gulanick and Judith Myers. It is not a 100% complete book of nursing diagnoses as it doesn't have every single one out there, but I've come to love it since it gives you a bunch for each medical diagnosis along with defining characteristics and related factors for each one. It helped me with the nursing process since we did not have a whole lot of practical experience(all theory) with it prior to starting care plans. Everything in the book is standardized in format making it easy to find exactly what you want and it lists nursing interventions in a chart with the action on one side and the rationale on the other.
