I got the phone call this morning The Manager had the Nurse Recruiter call me with the offer for an RN position,full-time, 3p-11p on NICU. I'm am SOOOOOOOOOO happy. After months of not even getting interviews, I apply, get the interview, and get the job in less than a week . Orientation doesn't start until September 15th and I already know I will work day shift for awhile with a preceptor before moving to "my" shift with another preceptor. Unit orientation, I was told, doesn't have a exact time limit. I do know that the day shift part will be several weeks, I think, since they want me to see what does go on during the day (tests, procedures, c-section admits, etc). Probably would get to hang out with the delivery team, who knows...I'll ask.
I am so excited. I think I impressed them by knowing something of what they do (thanks to the NICU forum ). And, I was willing to work 3p-11p. A lot of people don't like that shift, it's not my favorite but I'll work it. Its the 7a-3p shift that's going to kill me LOL, I am SO NOT a morning person
Now to study, study, study for the NCLEX so I can pass the first time.
Thank you ALL for your encouragement. THANK YOU BBFRN for the resume help.
