Ca corrections. Need help !

So CA corrections replied to my online application a few days ago in Delano CA.

They had me fill out a physical application with a copy of my License which I sent back to

the fresno office. It said I was ranked 5 out of 85. I would like to know if anyone was in a

similiar position and if you can tell me what happens next?

I am in a similar situation. I was ranked 2/80, scored a 95% on the "exam", got my request.... sent in the application and copies of license and certs.... have been waiting 3 weeks. It seems like forever. I was told the due date was 5/10 and the next week they would select interviewees and then the next week we would get letters. I have not gotten one.

So I am still waiting. I called and left a message for the Melissa Woodley (i think that was her name) but no return phone call. My resume should have looked really good to them... but i think I am wasting my time. Getting discouraged.

Don't feel bad, I received a notice last November and sent in my application on 11/21/09 and still haven't received a call. I was ranked 2/86 and the same job keeps being posted as open until filled.

I contacted the State of California - corrections dept. and let them know. I think their system needs a little work. The reply I received stated that many of these jobs are "on freeze" due to limited funds.

I have a interview soon as well. How did your go? What sort of questions did they ask you?

you get ranked, then you have to take the state exam, then you get interviewed. go to ca.gov, state personnel board and they list when the exams are being givenand the positions opens, the job descriptions and the "hot jobs" it's a long procedural process. there is a hiring freeze on now at least until the end of June, the end of the budget year. you can also contact the federal receiver's office or look on their website as they help with information and streamlining the hiring process. there is alot of information for youon the website cprinc.org (it's under ca.gov california prison health serices

Yes, I have a interview this week at a state prison as a RN. I was wondering what the actual interview is like, and what is it like to work at a prison, i.e. do you like it, do you feel safe?
