Hello everyone,
I have been reading the post on this site on and off for quite sometime. I feel like I no some of you! My question is this: I will be setting up a website and would like some do's and don'ts for those of you who have already crossed that bridge. Would appreciate some advice. Thank you.

I suggest to think through the purpose and the design of the website. For starters, I suggest the following:
Who is the intended audience? What key information about your business you want to convey on your website?
The front page is key to grabbing visitors' interests and peaking their desires to browse throughout your website. Therefore, it is very important to make a good first impression on the front page. Ensure your website is easy to navigate, is professional, and is kept up-to-date. An outdated website or a website that is too confusing to navigate can easily cause visitors to loose interest in your website.
Keep in mind just because an individual throws a website onto the Internet, does not mean it can be easily found. You will need to find creative ways to market the website to your current and potential customers. I suggest to research search engines, indexing, and similar technologies for marketing your website to potential customers, in addition to using printed brochures and business cards.
I hope your find the above suggestions helpful. Best wishes on your website!

Thank you all so much for the info. I'm still in the beginning stages of my business. I am compiling all of the information I have rec'd re: websites so that I can sit down and decipher it all. Websites are so important and sometimes are the first (and maybe only) impression of a business. In fact I don't think you could have a business without one. I'm a little stressed out right now with everything else that comes with starting a business, but I'm grateful for the help. Keep it coming!
