BSU Spring 2015 Application

Yes, I sent in my application a few weeks ago. Counting down the days until the deadline and then crossing my fingers! Do you live in Boise?

Well, Nampa... but most of my time is spent in Boise between work and school. haha. Yeah the waiting game sucks. I turned my application in by hand towards the beginning of the month, they had told me they were going to get the letters out a week or 2 after oct 1.

Here is to hoping for good news. What was your GPA in the 4 classes?

I fedex'd mine around the 5th of this month I think, but I didn't know we might hear back as soon as the middle of October! I am living in Western Washington right now, but if I get accepted I will of course be moving to Idaho. My GPA in the four classes is a 3.75 I believe. I was told by the advisor that is the average GPA of applicants accepted. What about you?

I'm running a 3.73, I got a B in the second A&P haha. And yeah, the average admitting GPA has been running between like 3.75-3.8 over the last couple of years. So even though I'm slightly below that, even if its the 3.8 how I'm going to look at it, that means for every 4.0 getting in, there is also a 3.6 getting in. Both the pre-nursing adviser and the nursing office lady both had stated that they think my GPA is strong, but I guess we will see.

Yeah, I got a B+ in my Physiology. So close, but not quite!

That's a good way to look at it...encouraging! I think we have a pretty good chance, as long as not everyone else has 4.0's lol.

How far outside of Boise is Nampa? And would you keep working if you get in? I like to think I could, but I am told its a better idea to focus on just school once you are in a program.

Nampa is about 18 miles outside of Boise but that is exit to exit, you'd still have to get to the freeway first. Honestly though, if I get in, I'm going to seriously look at moving into Boise to be a lot closer to campus. And yes, I would keep working, but the job I have right now its pretty low stress and it works with my school schedule fore sure, especially since most classes will be somewhere between 7am-3pm.

That doesn't sound like a bad commute, but I'm sure it would get tiring after a while.

If I get in I will probably be looking for a room mate if I cant find anything affordable. I was considering the student housing, but I have a dog and they don't allow them.

Do you have any insight into the local hospitals? I work in an ER right now, and would consider finding a weekend job or something. I am finishing up my CNA also, so hopefully that opens up a few options for me.

The main hospitals are going to be Saint Lukes and Saint Alphonsus, they both have a few different campuses around the valley. And I actually work at Saint Alphonsus, I'm just doing housekeeping type stuff right now though. I'm thinking about going to get my CNA, but don't really know if I'd want to put those classes on top of the other classes and work I already have, haha.

I just got my acceptance letter today :) So, I'm sure that you will get yours very soon since your GPA was better than mine.

That is so exciting!! Congrats! I didn't have anything in the mail today....fingers crossed for Monday and good news!!

Yay... its a lot to do, but oh so exciting.
