BSN Lamar 2018 FALL

Published

Hello I'm starting a post for those who are applying to the Lamar University nursing program in Beaumont, Tx for the Fall semester!

Specializes in med/surg, home health, hospice.

My son applied to the Lamar BSN program for Fall 2018. Fingers crossed he gets in. Do you happen to know when applicants will be notified of acceptance/denial and how many students they're supposed to admit for Fall 2018?

I just submitted my application! And I was told until the end of June they will send out the letter in the mail and I'm not sure how many students they admit

Did he have to get the hep b shot?

Yes, he did, because he was not immune. How did you do on your HESI? He has a 3.6 GPA in his sciences, but did not do so well on his HESI (made an overall score of 82). His advisor told him that they receive 150-200 applications and only admit 80. Kinda scary...

I am barely now seeing this and I got a 83, i was disappointed as well but you can only take it one time. When I told my advisor my score she told me that was a very good score so i dont know.. my overall gpa is not competitive but i do have 3.7 on my sciences so hopefully they look at that! Is he commuting or moving out there?

I applied for Fall 2018 BSN. It's pretty scary when 200 people apply and only 80 get in. As far as I've heard, there may be changes in the amount of people they are letting in. Last semester they accepted 88 students? This upcoming fall there is no definite number like the previous semesters, so I'm crossing my fingers. My overall GPA is a 3.8 and I made a 90 on my HESI. Good luck!

I am transferring from a junior college and still have to take theories of nursing during the summer! What about you?

will you be moving to Beaumont?

Yes sadly I will be taking both durinf the summer and driving from Houston 6 weeks straight !!! I know that it will all be worth it in the end & as of now I'm planning to commute depending on acceptance decision and how I can set my class schedule .
