Bruising Extremities Using TEDs & SCDs

Just as we got over the hurdle of whether or not to use both together, and we do, now there is the issue of postpartum patients developing bruises on their lower leg(s). We are assessing the application processes for each item. Is anyone else seeing bruising? If so, What has been the intervention?

Featured Replies

I have seen bruising on the plexi-pulses that go on the patients' feet. Some have had bruising over the whole foot... Intervention? Take them off, teach foot pumps, notify doc of bruising... get the patient walking.
