BOOTCAMP NCLEX

Published

I graduated in 2015, and since then I have been taking NCLEX to get my license as RN. I used many resources to prepare for the test but was still unable to cross the line. When I heard of the changes made on the NCLEX exam I decided to give it what I considered to be my final trial. I started browsing the internet to see which review program is good for me as a long time test taker to use and prepare for the new test. I stumbled into Bootcamp NCLEX. I did couple of their practice questions and later decided to register for full membership. Their questions are very straight forward and full of critical thinking approach, which is needed for the real NCLEX. I did many case study and standalone questions for 1 month and decided to register and take the test. I got my result after 3 weeks of taking the test and I PASSED. Bootcamp NCLEX next gen is similar to the real test. Their  template is almost the same. It is really the final bus stop for retake test takers. I recommend anyone who is having problem passing his/her NCLEX to use it.

First of all Congratulations!!!

Second, If you don't mind how many times since 2015 did you test before achieving your wonderful NEWS RN?

Again Congratulations, RN

I passed my NCLEX RN on my 12th attempt.

Wow! Congratulations on passing it and on being persistent!

Hi

I am a repeat tester too. I bought the Bootcamp next gen and am wondering how did you average on the quizzes until you felt comfortable enough to retake?

Hi,

I was scoring between 66 and 75. However, the good thing about their questions is that they are structured in a high level format, that is they have a lot of +/_ answers. The trick in their questions is to make student stick to only the answers you are sure of rather than guessing answers. By doing so you will not loose points from the ones you answered correctly.  Every answer you get right on SATA helps a lot, which is different from the previous test. Their case studies to me is almost the same with the real test.

Oh great to know! How many questions did you go up to on the real NCLEX exam? Any tips you have that I should know about that will help me succeed?

I was not paying attention with the number of questions answered. I was just going hoping that it will shut down sometime. As for clues, please when you start getting the case scenario questions, make sure to read everything on the tab like: nurses note, diagnosis, vital signs and laboratory results. Any answer you want to choose make sure you see it vividly on the scenario before picking it. Don't pick resemblance. Also answers with psychosocial issues are not considered too important. Answers with expected results don't choose eg CHF must have edema this is expected, COPD with 88% O2 is normal. Choose noninvasive approach before choosing invasive as the last option. Same is applicable to pharmacology. For SATA pick only answers you are 100%  sure of. Do not guess. Any wrong answer you choose will cancel one good answer you got. So if you know 2 out of 5 keep it that way. If you get questions  with potential actions always look for the worst answer that can kill the patient in seconds, like bleeding, hopovolemia, hypoxia, SOB etc

Thanks for the info and congratulations!. Am also looking on this Nursing bootcamp review but not sure if worth it. I don't know if this is better than Archer if you're familiar with. Please update. Thanks.

Bootcamp NCLEX was  designed with the current test plan and structure.  It is more like the real NCLEX. However, Archer, UWorld, Lippincott,  Saunders, Kaplan, nurseachieve etc are all great. They all added the new test plan to their old reviews. What you need is just one you are comfortable with. All reviews are the same. UWorld may be difficult with their level of questions, but bootcamp reduced the difficulty and tricks to the level you will meet at the real NCLEX. Their rationales are very easy to connect with other contents.  Just pick one review and master the new way of answering the current NCLEX.  This new NCLEX has many single answer questions than SATA. Moreover,  new case scenarios are considered clinicals and high leveled questions as was told. So don't guess answers on that section because it will kill your progress.  Only answer what you are 100% sure of. You will pass. Good luck!
