I'm wondering if there are BLS instructors who are also nursing educators? I have wanted to become a BLS instructor for a while, and looking into MSN education. And feel like they would go well together, esp if I do both around the same time. If anyone does both please share your roles. TIA.

In my part of the country almost all Nurse Educators in hospitals and other facilities are also BLS instructors. Not so many of the instructors in nursing schools, however. In the hospital environment it is useful for the educators to be certified trainers in as many courses as possible.

I am a Nurse Educator as well as a BLS Instructor. I think that the two go well together. In fact, quite a few of the Nurse Educator positions advertised ask for "BLS Instructor" as well as other American Heart Association credentials.
I just recently obtained my PALS Instructor credentials. ACLS Instructor is next on my list to obtain.

I'm full time faculty at a school, I am also a BLS, ACLS and PALS instructor. The problem I have is that my school also has a paramedic program and have their own training site. For me to teach at the college would be a conflict of interest. Right now I do not have the time to set up classes outside of what I ma doing at the college. I'll keep them all current so I can teach them if the opportunity arises.
