During our registration for Block II, we were told that there is a math test the first day that we must score 100% on. I was wondering what the content is, and what happens if you don't score a hundred percent. Thanks.

They're going to "run you through a wringer" like that all the way through nursing school - it sounds like the med-test we took before we were allowed to give meds.. 10 questions, real-world conversions/dosage etc.. how many mcg in a milligram, etc.. nothing you can't handle, just adding the pressure of you "must" pass.. in my class, you were allowed to re-take the test, and only a few had to.. theoretically they could/would drop you from the program if you failed twice - but there will be lots of milestones like that all the way through school..
30% of your class prolly won't be there at the end of block 2. Often for silly reasons like missing a clinical, or failing to take the class seriously.. Everyone they let into nursing school has the ability to pass, but a certain percentage just doesn't have the will to jump through all the hoops.

We had "the test" too. But it was not on our first day. It was actually on the first pre clinical lab day which was day 3. Anyway, it's a very simple math test. Basic conversions and such learned in block one. You will be learning IV math in block 2 but won't be tested on it for a bit because it is new material. In my program (also a MCCCD school) we were aloud to take it up to 3 times. Most passed the first time. The ones who didn't made minor calculation errors and passed the second time. Don't stress about it, you will be fine.
Ps. I shouldn't have said also a MCCCD school because I don't know what program you're in. But I would assume that they will only test you on block one material and that should just be your basic conversions. GL

Mrsboots..
Since we're at the same school, I believe, do you know if the math test was multiple choice?
No, it was fill in the blank and required all work to be shown. But they were all very basic problems. Like: The doctor ordered 5000 units of heparin. On hand there is 20000 units per 5 mL. How many mL will you give the patient? And stuff like that.
