What other certificates could I acheive or what else could I do that would make me stand out from other CNA's if I apply for a CNA job in the future? I am going to be a CNA however knowing how competitive getting a job is these days, what else can I do to stand out to employers? I am going to school at Santa Rosa JC in California and would be looking for a job in Marin County (hopefully).

We were told to get a American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certificate. I also ended up getting a first aid certificate.

I hear getting certified in EKG & plebotomy would help since alot of hospitals look for that as well.

ekg would probably be a very helpful thing. its something that not a lot of people get. i personally can't stand it. but it does help you. there are some really good websites out there that can help you get the basics down. once you have the basics, the more complex things are easier to understand.

you can go over the material as many times as you want, but don't pay for it.
