Hello! I started this thread to meet any other students who have applied to the evening nursing program at BCC. I just took my TEAS today. How is everyone else looking?

Hi! I just took my TEAS yesterday and don't have my score yet. If I score high enough and get accepted, I am still unsure if I should do this program or excelsior online.

Did you take your TEAS online or in person? I thought you received your results immediately? Apparently even though excelsior offers an ADN, their ADN program is not accredited. Only their bachelors and masters. So it really depends on how quickly you want to get into the field as an RN. 

I took TEAS in person and had to wait 48 hours for my score. I thought Excelsior ADN program is accredited for NJ. They added clinicals to be compliant. I will need to look into this. Thank you for the information!

I just looked and you are correct! Excelsior is only accredited for BSN and MSN ?

I applied to the nursing program as well, waiting for the decision letter. How did everyone do on the TEAS?

I did not do so well, but keeping my fingers crossed.

I have also applied and my TEAS score was 74.7. My GPA is a 3.8. Hoping and praying I get in. How did y'all do? Anyone know when we should hear by?

It’s your cumulative GPA right? I hear some people say it’s cumulative and others say it’s science and english GPA?? I have a 3.5 GPA and scored 81.3 on TEAS. I’m hoping we hear by the end of the month.

Yeah It's your cumulative GPA from what I understand. Great job on the TEAS! I heard that they use the TEAS score as 60% of the criteria and 40% for the GPA. Your TEAS score is amazing and your GPA is good too! Wishing you luck, I hope you get in!

Yup it’s 60/40. Thank you so much! It was honestly a challenging exam. I’m still nervous since there is such a huge pool of applicants so crossing my fingers!! Good luck to you as well; hope we both get in!

If your GPA is high, it will help you. They take 60% TEAS and 40% of your GPA.
