Beds

Op, you commented on the cost of replacing the beds; I decided to google it out of curiosity, and the prices range from $580 for a semi-electric bed (I didn't check what functions it has) to just under $5000 for a full function range extra-wide bariatric bed. So yes, it would be rather expensive if you're looking at the higher range. I'd try to get them to start with those areas where they're most needed....

A few years ago, my facility was trying to replace a few beds at a time. Last year or so, we did a remodel of the place and we got the rest of the beds.

Night and day!!!! LOve them and love the fact that they go all the way down to the floor as a low bed. I refuse to bend over a bed for anything now~

Most of the beds in the LTC facility I work at have handle cranks. I have a hard time figuring out which crank goes to the head, feet, or whole bed.

When we were taking care of my disabled mother at home, about ten years ago. She had a hospital bed. It had controls for the head and feet, but to raise the whole bed for care, it had a crank at the foot. We tried to get one with all electric controls and were told Medicare would not pay for it.
