I am currently an OR nurse, working on getting my CNOR now and thinking of may be becomming an NP in future. Can someone enlighten me as to what I need to do? I already have a Bachelors degree in nursing. I heard you need to have a master's degree? if that is the case through which facility/college offers these courses? and what does it entail? Thanks in advance!! :nurse:

To become a nurse practitioner in the US, you need to complete a masters degree (MSN). I have a BN from Australia and just started my MSN in ACNP in the US. You need to investigate university programs and see which one fits your requirements (format, instructors, course, location, cost etc) and contact their office of international students to see what the application process is (if you studied overseas). You usually need to get your bachelor degree assessed and then apply.

It's very expensive, so do your homework well. Most programs are happy to sit down with you and go over how your goals fit with their program.
