Becoming a SRNA with a DUI

Good morning,

I will make my question simple. Are there any CRNA’s out there that have gotten to where they are at despite having a misdemeanor? If so, please let me know! I am looking for inspiration to get into a program, but I am bummed about having this permanent record under my belt. The competition is fierce and I am willing to put in the work for it. Thank you!

I've definitely seen people on here post and comment that they've had a DUI in regards to applying to CRNA school. I wouldnt let a DUI stop you from applying if you think you've got a good enough application.

If that is the only legal trouble you have had, it will probably be OK. It will just depend on how long ago it was. You will obviously be expected to address it. I wouldn't try to defend any of it, just focus on what you have done since to better yourself and get yourself right.

Did you already disclose this while you have your RN? If so, you should be good!

I know someone who did with more than 1 DUI.  Just be remorseful and explain what is the difference between then and now.

We all make mistakes. Good luck champion.
