I haven't heard too much about their nursing program, but i would check into their passing rate for the NCLEX. I wish you the best:).

Thanks sweetnurse63 for replying... I checked out the the passing rate for 2010 on Maryland Board of Nursing and it was 90.91%. I suppose that's not too bad.

I also received my letter on Saturday! We will meet soon! June 2!!! I am happy but scared too! I have heard so many different stories!

Hello,

Ive gotten accepted into BCCC nursing program for Spring 2012. I am really anxious and want to be prepared for the first semester. Any advice you can give? Can you tell me what is most challenging? Should I be reading before the program starts and what should I be reading? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi... I would first like to say congratulations on your acceptance into the program... I did not accept my seat at BCCC because I was accepted into the E/W program at CCBC.

1. My first bit of advice is to refresh yourself with A&P2 because it will help a great deal.

2. If you do not already know try to learn how to take a manual BP.

3.Read up on how to write nursing care plans and nursing diagnosis. Will really help if you have general information and basics.

4. But really#1 gets the Fundamentals of success book 2nd edition by Nugent.

5. Get a dosage calculations book I have a 7th edition and just go over the basics.

6. Relax and rest up now, enjoy your family and friends now because the time commitment is no joke.

Hope this helps and if you have any other questions let me know, I will try my best to answer.

GOOD LUCK!!! :yeah:

HELLO! CONGRATS! I did accept my seat into the program this past sept. I love it I love my clinical instructor and the lecture instructors! DON'T study med calc Dr. M has her own way of teaching and it will just confuse you. Make sure you remember basic math, percents, ratio, decimals fractions etc... are they doing the 2 week refresher to get you prepared? email me and I will send what your first assignment will be! [email protected] study your fluid and electrolyte that has been my weakest so far! :)

Thanks so much for the quick response and advice. Im sooooo excited!!

Thank you! I see you suggest the Fundamentals of Success book. DId your school recommend this book for your fundamentals class?

At this point, you have two choices.....run in the opposite direction as fast as you can or prepare to work as hard as you can. I am a third semester student. I actually look forward to going to class and to clinical however, I have never had to do so much work ,in so little time. The work is not difficult ...it's just so much of it. I guess it's that way no matter where you go. The good news is that I know I will pass the NCLEX on the first try. I know it. I feel very prepared and my instuctors have been awesome ( some more than others) ! We have one professor named Ms. Carter.....find her ( the very first day) and take advantage of guidance, love and support that she has to offer.

Moved to Maryland nursing programs.
