I am an RN and I work 32 hours every weekend (Sat/sun) and get paid for 40 hours with the Baylor plan. For purposes of overtime- when does overtime pay kick in? I have been working an extra 16 hours every week but only getting paid for 8 hours of that in overtime. Is that how it works?

Yes. Overtime is paid for hours worked over 40 hours, not hours paid.

yes, I work 3-12s and my OT doesn't start until I hit 40 when I pick up extra.
How can you do 2 16H back to back shifts? I thought there had to have 8 hours in between? Our 12H shifts are 0700-1930 to allow for lunch. I'd have to have a sleep room at the hosp to do that. LOL

Overtime anywhere always begins after you've worked 40 hours.
Sidenote, I'm curious, do you like working at Baylor?

Baylor pay is not working at Baylor. It is a program developed at Baylor where you work weekends but get paid FT. I don't think anyone is doing true Baylor anymore. I am a weekend option RN, I have signed a contract to work every weekend, but I have to work one weekday so I have a 3-12H shift schedule. I do make extra $$ for working weekends.
