Band 6 interview advice

Published

Hi

I work on an Emergency Assessment Unit as a band 5 Senior Staff Nurse. I have been here now for 4 and a half years. I have an interview for the band 6 Deputy Sister post (1 of 6 Deputy Sisters) and I have to prepare a short presentation.

Any advice on what to include would be amazing. Here it is:

As a band 6 working on a busy Emergency Assessment Unit how will you balance your clinical responsibility along with the responsibility of supporting your ward manager.

Thank you.

Do you have any ideas of your own?

I'm stuck with the whole balance scenario. So I obviously know my clinical responsibilities as a nurse and to support my manager I would make sure I support her decisions, motivate and encourage staff, help meet financial constraints whilst still providing high quality care etc. But how will I balance it. Surely it just goes side by side?

Hi

I need some advice. I have a presentation next week for a band six post in ITU. I need to do a short presentation on this topic : As a band 6 in ITU what is your role in promoting quality and maintaining standards within the ITU and the trust as a whole? Its my first time being interviewed for band 6 and I just don't know where to start. Any help is greatly appreciated.
