Background Check

Hello,

I could really use feedback, I had an MIP my freshman year of college. Went to court for it and they did not have a diversion program, so I paid the fine. On future background checks including the one done for my nursing school, this did not show up. I also was able to get my Oregon nursing license without disclosing this, so I must have passed the national background check as well. This is my only infraction other than some minor speeding tickets and it has been 5 years. Of note, this was also not revealed in my background check for working at the VA and the private hospital I currently work at.

My question is, I am not applying for my California nursing license and am starting to become worried about this. I wonder if California's background check is any different than the one Oregon did and if I am at risk for having them dig this up. It has never been a problem before and I figured it would never be since this seems to have dropped off of my record. Is the national background check through Oregon the same as through California? I believe this may be listed as a violation and not a misdemeanor, and possibly has fallen off my record.
