Background Check Policy

I am wondering if anyone has a criminal background check policy? At present our state department of health does a minimal background check. The healthcare facilities where we send our students for clinicals is requiring a more in-depth cbc. We are trying to look at what other educational institutions have as policies, what are they doing with the information, what offenses preclude someone from furthering their education etc. If anyone has a policy from their institution and would be willing to share I would appreciate it.

Thank you

Virtual all states and health care agencies do some kind of background check. As to what bars one from working/getting a license varies so incredibly widely that no one is going to have a universal policy and what applies in one state or agency will not apply in another.

This means that you need to be SPECIFIC as to the agency and or background issue. No one is going to be able to provide you with the exact information that you want, otherwise.

Thank you. I know there are colleges with policies as I have received a couple but am looking for additional insitutions that may be willing to share.

Personally, wouldn't the school policy mimic the state policy? There wouldn't be much point in getting an education if you can't get licensed.

What am I missing?

Our school policy does mimic state policy. Whatever is needed to sit the NCLEX is needed to work in clinical sites.
