Back to School for BSN or work?

Nurses Career Support

Hi everyone I'm so torn I hope you can all give me some advice. I graduated 2 years ago and worked for about 4 months in a hosptial on a med/surg floor. I left because I was unhappy and also became pregnant at about the same time. I didn't want to be pregnant and under alot of stress so I haven't worked since.

My daughter is now 5 months old and part of me really feels a pull to go back to work. I really didn't like the hospital BUT I also feel I didn't really give it enough time to get comfortalbe with everything. I think as a new grad I felt that the adjustment to the real world would be ALOT easier then it was. I'm also thinkign that maybe I would look for work outside of the hosptial possibly LTC. I'm envious of my friends now who have stuck it out and now have 1 year plus under there belts.

My dilemma is I'm not thrilled with having to get childcare for my little girl, :oI have started looking into seeing if I could find someone to watch her here in my home 2-3 days. I'm thinking if I did get a nightshift somewhere I might be able to have a sitter in my home watching her while I sleep. Also, I feel sooo SCARED to go back into nursing but I think more "realistically" ready for the challeges it holds. I know I'm going to come up against difficult people and I need to be ready to face it. I guess I just feel I worked so hard for my license I really want to use my knowlege and continue to learn.

On the other hand I'm thinking I could just stay at home with my little girl and start working on a BSN degree either on line or attending school at night.

I guess I'm just looking for some opinions to help me figure out what direction might be best for me at this point.

HELP! I just feel so confused..
