Specializes in med/surg & a tad of onco..

Just two days ago I sent my stuff to the CA BON. Now I would like to change my mind with all that has been said about applying for initial licensure in CA. I feel bad about it as it isn't exactly cheap (especially for a a new RN like me). I also applied for Nevada (good heavens! am i impulsive or what?). What are your views about that? To add to the problem, now I found out that I don't need the CGFNS so i'm going to have to write a letter requesting for the partial refund (I wasted some money again). But maybe I can have them transfer the partial amount to the Visa Screen Application. What do you think? I have mentioned before that I had passed the IELTS but haven't taken the NCLEX-RN (I applied for it but am waiting for the approval of my credentials). I can apply already for the Visa Screen Certificate? So with all that has been said, HELP! What action should I take now? I feel like I have made so many mistakes I don't want to make anymore because it is painful!

Step One: Stop and take a deep breath.

Step Two: Nevada requires a credentials verification, did you send for that.

Step Three: Yes, it is okay to submit the allpication for the Visa Screen Certificate at this time, nothing will be done until you pass the NCLERX.

Step Four: Not sure why you applied to Nevada and Ca at the same time for initial licensure. You should only apply to one, or it can cause more issues.

At this point, see if CGFNS will transfer funds, but do not do anything else, or you will be causing more problems for yourself.:wink2:

I know I can't go back and change things but what kind of issues would there be if I applied to both Ca and Nevada?

I am hoping that I can retrieve the stuff I sent to CA BON (since it was 2 days ago and things work quite slowly over here). This would truly be a miracle! If i can retrieve the papers then is it okay to pursue NY? My pocket says "ouch!" but I'm trying to think in terms of avoiding future inconveniences as well. Sigh.. thanks for helping me, by the way...this sure isn't a walk in the park! I'm kinda tired to go to work, heh. This first!

Well...Can't retrieve what was sent to the CA BON. So the waiting process is on! Ugh. I guess all i can do for now is continue to work and review for the NCLEX (all that's left to do), and waaaaaaiiiiiit.......?!

some of my classmates who opted for Cali nclex already got permission from Cali BON to take the NCLEX. they applied August and got approved late september....dont worry

Applying to more than one state can cause confusion with Pearson-Vue as you cannot write the NCLEX exam for more than one state.

Same thing happens if you get petitioned by more than one employer for the US, immigration will spit out your application, and until it all gets straightened out, you have added months on to everything.

Not a good idea to duplicate anything with a second employer or state.:uhoh3:

Good news! Though I am "stuck" with CA BON, my mother did not send anything to Nevada yet (we did the fingerprinting, etc. but it just wasn't sent yet). Therefore, it shall never be sent...hoorah! Though NY seems to be the better option, what was done is done!
