AVC Fall 2021

Hi, anyone applying for AVC Fall 2021. I'm finally done with my prereqs and I just ordered my transcripts. Now I'm just waiting to take my TEAS before the deadline.

@futurenurse661 EXACTLY!!

Like I said though, wasn't meant to be this year. It's OK, I have come to terms with it ?

Tbh I haven’t had an issue with transcripts. I applied to coc this year as well and usually what I ask is for the transcript center to DIRECTLY send the officials to the institutions and I pay a few more for expediting. Next time for anyone that wants to avoid it being mailed to you then mailed back to the school try this ?:)

Yeah, you are absolutely right. I just meant that AVC will ask for hard copies along with your application as well as electronic sent to admission office. So, unfortunately we have to have them mailed to us and submitted along with our apps.

But yeah, every other school I've done just electronic orders.

yes, for AVC they require hard copies submitted WITH the application AND hard OR electronic copies sent to admissions. And none of the venders I had to order from offered expedited shipping. And NONE of the colleges allowed in person pick up of transcripts. So I was screwed every which way. Not sure how your application (Karina) would have been accepted any other way at AVC.

I see well also keep in mind I applied 5/19 when covid wasn’t here and I went in person

I seee well keep in mind my initial app was 5/19 and that was before covid . In person .. now the updated one I sent was through that parchment website I believe and it was to be mailed to the college (hard copy )

wait were the transcripts supposed to  be mailed directly to the college by the company we ordered them from?

You have that option ans that’s what I did yes for not just avc but other colleges

It’s not mandatory I just preferred it this way

OK I included them in my application packet just because I wanted to make sure everything would be received at the same time I was a little scared for a minute

I see yes I did that same thing in 5/19 .. but this year I sent the updated class I took at COC . Are you applying elsewhere ?

I applied at GCC I completely forgot about COC I don’t really want to travel for school since I have 3 kids it would be hard for baby sitting. I’m also going to apply at trade tech just in case I know that school is a first come first served

Yeah. So, one set is supposed to be sent to admissions at AVC and another sent along with your application to the nursing dept at AVC by mail. Was that what you were asking?

trade tech is an excellent option for a backup. I think their wait right now is about 3 semesters though. Pre-Covid their wait was 1-2 semesters. But since it’s a first come first serve and they accept applications on a rolling basis, it’s nice to have that option if other schools don’t pan out by time your turn comes up at trade tech. And from what I’ve heard, they do sometimes get to people sooner because most people start a program elsewhere before their turn comes up which frees up the wait list.
