Or do u submit ur application with required documents before the Health Core Class??!!?..

well, no.. i would suggest going to atlantic for orientation. i believe (without looking at the lpn paperwork) that the next enrollment starts in oct. the basics have to be down before you submit you application; basic orientation; tabe; lpn orientation; teas; lpn packet out the way.. to tell you the truth i’m not sure if the core class is before or after you get accepted in the lpn program.. also, it is a first come, first serve basis.. so the sooner you complete all your tasks, it betters your chance of an acceptance letter and a seat in the program.. :typing
not to discourage you in any way.. .i just ran into an old friend today, she attended med vance and regretted .. she ended up dropping out and being 10k in the hole .. she returned back to school and graduated from atlantic tech and is currently in lpn-rn program at broward college, she speaks highly of both atlantic and bc :wink2:..
please, keep in mind that is one's persons' experience.. . so you basically would have to go with your gut and do your research on the school you would like to attend!
its great to have forums like this because it sheds much insight on all walks of life.
good luck..
Ok well I'm going to look into Atlantic because I would hate to go to medvance and end up the same. Do you know the class hours and days. I live in Palm beach county so I want to get a little info abt the school. I go to orientation tomorrow for at medvance and from that point I will go from there
.. Palm Beach?.. Ma, thats a drive.
Well the class hours for Atlantic Tech are:
Full-Time:
12 months.. sometimes cut to 10 months
M-F 7:00 am – 1:45 pm
18 months
Part-Time:
M-Th 2:00 pm – 10:15 pm
.. Attend the Orientation.. Let us know how it is goes.. :specs:Go in with a open mind.. If possible I would suggest speaking to active students and research.. that way you can form your own opinion..
Sorry for asking a lot of questions
PBCC the class has started. The next one starts in Jan. Do you know when the next one at Atlantic starts. Do they really cut the class short?

The next class starts Oct 26th. I know that during registration for the last class the LPN program was already closed for August. Prior to registering you have to get your immunizations, background check, drug testing and successfully pass the TABE and TEAS. Once that's complete, you can then get a registration slip to take and pay your tuition. Once it's paid for, you're in. I had everything competed but the TEAS, which I took Aug 4th and wasn't able to start until Oct class.
NHanCI do you know under what circumstances the classes are cut to 10 months vs the full 12? I read on their programs that it's at the students pace, but doesn't go into any further details. Thanks for any info you might have.

.. :ancong!: on starting in oct.. i too have to take the teas, its very nerve racking.. i hate taking tests! anyhooz, i was told by several students, that based on your pace that it can be cut down the 10 months.. especially if you lucky enough to have an rn that is willing to help you during your clinical (letting you do their work).. . but i will definitely confirm this information.. and share with you all..
THANK YOU!! The teas wasn't too bad. It was stressful though. I used the ATI study guide and studied all summer. Could have been far worse! I'm SO excited to start

SpencerFLA,
I have a few questions for you since you have gone through most of the process already. I am looking to start Atlantic Tech in January. I have already taken the Tabe and am registered for the Oct 8 PN Orientation. ( This was the first available unfortunately) Reading your post from earlier has me concerned about the classes getting full. Do you think if I were to take the TEAS after orientation I would still be able to register for January? Also you stated once you complete everything you can register. So you dont have to wait for an acceptance letter? Do they only give a certain amount of slips to register? You just get a pass to register? Any advice on TEAS would also be great. Sorry about all the questions just trying to stay ahead of the game.
Thanks:wink2:
Be happy to help. So, here's the process I went through. This could be somewhat different for you, as I utilized the WIA program through unemployment to pay for my tuition. First I did the TABE, then went through Orientation in May, scheduled the TEAS for Aug 4th. After I did the orientation, I did my physical, immunizations, drug test and fingerprinting. I studied for the summer for the TEAS. Took that on the 4th, passed and turned in my completed packet. They gave me the registration slip, then umemployment gave me a voucher to pay for tuition, books and uniform. Once it was paid, I was in the class. However, I was originally told that taking the TEAS on Aug 4, "Should allow enough time for me to enter the Aug class". Come to find out, when I took the TEAS, it was filled already. And from what I heard the Oct class was half way filled when I did my registration about Aug 5th or 6th. So that should give you a general idea of how quickly they fill up.
My word of advice, since you already know that you are doing the orientation on Oct 8th, call and make a doc appt as close to that as possible and plan on a day to get the drug testing (waited 2 hours) and the fingerprinting (downtown FTL and waited 1 hr) and schedule the TEAS asap. (my opinion). I hope that helps!
