Assistant Management to CRNA?

So I've been an ICU nurse for the past five years in MCICU and neuro ICU at two different large hospitals, with plans to apply for CRNA school in summer of 2017 to start 2018, about a year/year and a half from now. An opportunity has come up in my unit (MCICU at a level 1 trauma center) for an assistant management position. My questions are

1. Would management experience be helpful or detrimental on my resume/application? I would still be at bedside, but not as much as I currently am as charge and grunt.

2. Would a year and a half being an assistant manager on my intended timeline really impact anything at all?

Feedback and insight from current CRNAs, and especially any lurking CRNA school recruiters greatly appreciated.

    I don't know that it will hurt you, but it may. I can't really see how it would help you. If CRNA is your goal, stay a clinician.

    Thanks for the feedback. Short term it is about a $5k pay raise (which we could use with a new baby), but wasn't sure what the downside result would be when applying down the road.
