How important is it for the patient w/CP to get ASA stat if pt is on heparin gtt. The patient was nauseous and could only tolerate taking 2 baby asa instead of 2 ( as per protocol)??

asa is just as important as heparin.
it has been my understanding that baby asa (81mg) is the norm...
and that chewables are preferable.

We typically give 325mg enteric coated, though studies suggest that chewable ASA absorbs more quickly, through the oral mucosa.

ASA actually helps prevent/lessen the reperfusion injury associated with an MI when blood flow is restored to the ischemic area. Very important! It puts the A in MONA. :redbeathe
This may be a stupid question but I am assuming MONA is for Morphine, O2, Nitro, ASA. Are these the top 4 prioroities or should these be done in this order?
