I am a nursing student , Still taking pre req classes. As I read the threads I am so lost as to the nurse termonology..and different areas of nursing avaliable
I had no idea there were so many..Can any one help me. or point me to where I can find information on the different nursing areas.

Take your time and look around this website. You'll see that most if not all specialty areas are represented here. Most areas have threads/conversations running or archived about what is involved in that specialty.
Also scroll down on the home page and you'll see links to specialty nursing websites. Most/All organizations have mission/vision/values statements that describe the scope of practice for that specialty.
And last grab a copy of Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary (my personal favorite) or whichever you prefer. I have a copy of the 20th Ed. on my computer and it has in the Appendices list of Health Care Resources, Nursing Organizations, Professional designations/titles, and many other useful tidbits that will help you throughout school and your future worklife.

This is why I love nursing so much. Once you have your degree and RN after your name, the sky is the limit for what you can do. Anything and everything is available for you............ :)
