Applying for a nursing program

So I'm applying for the Fall 2014 program, and I have one concern that deals with the prerequisite courses that I will still be taking by the time the application is due. Most CSU nursing applications are going to be due sometime around January-Febuary. This is during the Spring semester, when I will still be taking the last of my prerequisites, which are Physiology, 2nd level (last level) Chemistry, and a Communications class.

Does this mean that I cannot apply for the Fall 2014 program, since I wouldn't have my grades for those three prerequisite classes in? Does that also mean that I have to wait another year to get into the next Fall 2015 program? :\

Background (if needed): I'm at a community college and this is going to be my second year.

It depends on the school, but many schools allow you to apply still. You can still get into the program as long as you complete the classes prior to the first nursing semester. In your application, I would make note of that. A lot of schools have you apply online using NursingCas and there is an option for you to put that info:) Good luck!

My school doesnt consider you a candidate for selection until all pre req grades are finalized. I would check with your program :) GOOD LUCK!

You need to check the policies of each program you're applying to carefully - some require that all prereqs be done at the time your application is submitted, some allow you to apply with only a certain number of prereqs in progress or to be completed, and some don't seem to care either way. Also, some programs will just go off of your current GPA at the time of application but others will calculate the prereqs you still have to take into your GPA as a "B" - definitely a consideration if you think you'll do better than that in the class.
