APACHE II scoring system

I am ccu nurse and because i woud like to assess the apache ii scoring system, i looking for someone who has expriences about this system,i am looking for your help,thanks

thanks for your attention, i had this form, do you work with this tool yourself or do you know that is practical to use APACHEII as a predictor tools,

I never really used it. If the physicians I worked with used it, I never knew it. Sorry for such an anecdotal answer. ;)

It was widely used in most ICUs I worked in in Australia. The coding was done retrospectively from record review as far as I know, so it didn't really help us at the bedside on a prospective basis as a predictor tool.

Its widely used where I work as well, however we dont formally chart it. It is used more for determining when to initiate drugs such as Xigris for sepsis. Xigris is a VERY expensive drug and is usually only indicated with a certain Apache score.

thank you very much,could u explain how you score by this system,which version of APACHE and if there is better scoring system or practical scoring system that is used in ICU OR CCU, let me know.
