Hello,

Well....

Asking about Sutter is just about the same as asking about Kaiser. There are many different hospitals under the Sutter umbrella, and each has a different flavor!

You might want to post on the travel nursing forum, as the Sutter system has lots of travelers.

The Sutter website has a good deal of information about their hospitals. See http://www.sutterhealth.org.

Good luck!

Thanks for your response Athlein. I guess I should have been more specific :). I am interested in the hospitals in the East Bay Area and San Francisco, particularly Alta Bates Medical Center and California Pacific Medical Center. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Alta Bates Medical Center is located on Telegraph and regents in Berkley. I met a few people who work there, mostly emt's in the ED and OB dept. Seem pretty nice. I work in priv. ped's office and our docs do rounds at that hospital. They have a few campuses around. http://WWW.altabatesmedicalcenter.com I don't usually have any trouble getting what i need unless its a newborn rec, discharge summary. I know ob docs that deliver there, and generally our patients seem to have good things to say about the hospital itself. CPMC is on the other side of the bay, and we do send patients there for tx also.

Specializes in Transitional ICU, Neuro/Trauma ICU.

I'm also looking into the new RN programs at Alta Bates Med Center.

My former sister in law worked for Alta Bates and loved it. I worked with an ER doc who used to work at CPMC and he enjoyed it there. He said the only reason he left was because he left the city.
