Anyone here tried this littmann on for size?

Littmann® Soft Touch Cardiology STC Stethoscope.

allheart_1997_26071579

I was thinking of upgrading from my Littmann Cardiology III Stethoscope to this bad boy after seeing a few of the NP's showboating with it and boasting about the remarkable acoustics.

Anyone here taken her for a ride?

Hello....I bought this stethoscope whenever I started working in the ED, and I have no complaints whatsoever! It has wonderful acoustics, and I'm very glad I purchased it. Yes, it is a little more pricey, but I'd rather have something nice and clear to insure I'm hearing EVERYTHING possible. You won't be disappointed. GO FOR IT!!!

I couldn't tell you about that Littman you mentioned. I will tell you this though.... I bought a Littman Cardilogy Model II in 1988. I've replaced the ear pieces a couple of times other than that it;s had no service needed. I can hear through it just as well today as I did those 20 years ago when I bought it. Can't beat a Littman!!

Doesn't come in noenatal or pedi size. (insert a bad word)

Had a Littman and found it so heavy around my neck that I actually went out and bought a cheaper model!

I have the STC and LOVE it! As a nurse in a Coronary Care Unit, this stethoscope allows me to hear all of those extra heart sounds (to the point where you can pick up on Grade I murmurs!). I have used the Master Cardiology III (a friend of mine has it) but I prefer the STC; I think you can hear heart sounds better.
