Orientation day is September 9:) I live in rio Rico so it will be an hour drive each way. I hope I can be lucky and find someone to carpool with. I'm just happy it's getting near!

Come to the SNAP boot camp on August 19 at 8am. We'll tell you everything you need to know.

...HESI is not a pass/fail. It's a guide to see where you are proficient. If you have a low score in something, you will just get advised to tutor in it.

Thank you for this info. Is the SNAP mtg at the West campus?

Which room?

Thanx:)

It's downstairs in the skills lab/classroom D107, I think. It's in the HRP building. Breakfast and lunch is provided. I think the fee is $30 and that covers your membership for the whole program.

In SNAP, I got to go to the Nurses Week celebration as a volunteer at a resort. Excellent food and I got to go to several seminars.

I actually have orientation tomorrow sept 9th. The testing fees are for the HESI exam and the other one is for a urine drug test. Both of them you will do In orientation. I'll keep you posted on what goes on tomorrow:) by the way, do you live in Tucson? I'm actually asking because I live in Rio Rico which is an hour south of Tucson and needed someone to carpool with. As far as I know, I'm the only one from this town but still hoping to find someone close to here.

ohhh alrighty. yeah let me know how your orientation goes! im so curious why we have to be their from 830am to 6 pm!

I have a bit of a drive myself to the west campus about 35 min.I live way on the east side of Tucson. What are you going to do if you cant find anyone to carpool with?

Its nice to actually talk to someone starting the nurse program the same time I am by the way :).

Hello,

I attended orientation on Sept. 9th. I was so nervous at first but once I got there I was okay. It was very informative and necessary.

The reason for the 830-6pm time frame: They require us to be there at 8:15 to sign in giving everyone time to check in before 9. Don't forget to pay the testing fee for the HESI ahead of time! Make sure you have your finger print card & cpr card (with a copy, front and back of both), and a photo id ready to be handed in. Make sure you have the right cpr card, they informed us that 4 or so students were turned away and had to reapply because they didn't have the correct card Ouch! :smackingf

Orientaion starts at 9 and lasts a couple of hours. We were there until about 11:15. Then we took a break until noon and met in the computer commons room to take the HESI. The HESI is what I stressed out about because I thought we had to take the full test. However it only consisted of reading, math, A&P, a personality test, and a learning style test. Cake! But I suggest you brush up on the basics of those 3 subjects if needed. It takes about 2 hours to complete. After that you need to go to one of their suggested drug testing centers to get tested.

So you will actually only be at the West campus until about 2-230 pm. That gives you the rest of the day to do your drug test. I believe the latest that one center stays open is 6pm, hence the 6pm end time.

Make sure you pay attention to due dates and check your pima email daily! We need to get full physicals and make sure our shots are up to date. They will explain all of this during orientation. Ask lots of questions if you aren't sure about something! Remember no question is stupid!

Congratulation to everyone who made it this far!:yeah: Good luck! See you all January 17th!!!

You will actually be out of there way before six. They just wanted to make sure there was enough time for everything. As for my driving, I'll just have to do it. I know other girls here that just became RN's and they went through it. I guess I just feel lucky to finally be accepted. It's so hard to get into nursing school nowadays...

how long were you guys on the waiting list before you got accepted? I am still finishing my pre reqs and will be applying in the spring and i would really appreciate some guidance! thanks!
