Hi, I have an interview tomorrow for an endo tech position. I am going to nursing school next fall and really would like to get back into the hospital setting. Has anyone worked in this environment? What exactly does the job consist of, and did you like working in this position. Any feed back would help. Thanks. Erin

a endo tech holds the scope during colonoscopies and EGDs and then cleans the scopes. that is their main duties.

Hello,
I know this is a bit off topic, however I use to sell endoscopy equipment. That is how I descided to become a nurse. I cannot believe how far technology has come. One positive is definately the schedule you would probably work. Good Luck in making your decision.

I didn't really like working in endo. It is like the previous person said, you are essentially setting up rooms, cleaning scopes and doing basic work with the doctors and nurses. It was neat working and watching the inside of the GI on HDTV, but I got fed up dealing with the environment. I went from there to PACU and I love that area a lot more.
