well, I want to work in Long Term Care Facility, Rehab, or anything that accepts any newly grad. I just passed my NCLEX and most of the Hospitals wants atleast a year of experience. I'm LVN by the way.
I'm from California and just moved to Texas last week.
I have heard that it is now hard to get a job in Houston as an LVN because the displaced Louisiana and Mississippi LPNs of Hurricane Katrina are receiving hiring priority there since they have more experience than the typical newbie. Many hurricane victims, including nurses, are displaced and living in the Houston metro area.

I'm from the West side, so I don't know of any positions in the SW area. Just wanted to say- Welcome to Texas!

Well Howdy and a Hi Yall,
Lived in TX for 16 years in SouthwestHouston near Memorial Drive off I-10.
Richmond Street has alot of facilities on it and Sugarland is a great place to look because 80% of the elderly population live there. Stay in Harris County, they have alot of resources there.
Let me know where you end up, I would love to hear how the Texans are doing. I have been here in PA since 89 but I am still a Texas gal at heart!!! Once a Texan, always a Texan....
