I was curious if people get accepted without having A&P II and Micro completed? (but with everything else done)
I wish they would take into consideration what you are currently enrolled in. Those are my only 2 classes left (I will take in the Spring) but I would love to apply in February.

My coworker had a 4.0 grade point average when she applied to TCC's nursing program. She applied to both the generic RN program and the fast-track LVN-to-RN bridge program, and was rejected for both. The problem was that she was missing her A&P II class. However, Southwestern Adventist University accepted her, contingent upon passing A&P II.

I didn't have micro or concepts of pe done when I applied for the spring '08 semester. I didn't get in either... Although I had maintained an "A" throughout the duration Microbiology, the nursing dept. informed me they do not check on classes that are in session at the time of application, and if it's not on your transcript it doesn't count... It never hurts to apply though.

I certainly wouldn't want to discourage you from applying but wanted to share my story. I applied for the last year's fall class at TCC not having Micro but was enrolled for the summer section. I had somewhere between a 3.8 and 3.9 overall with a 4.0 in the other three sciences. I also scored in the 98th percentile on my TEAS - sorry, I can't remember what my exact score was off the top of my head. Anyway, to make a long story short, I got on the alternate list and never made it in. I did however take that semester to finish my prerecs at UTA and am now finishing BSN there. It was hard to swallow, but it really is just that competitive! Good luck to you!!
That's the feeling I'm getting from talking with people.... that unless I have these courses COMPLETED, it's a slim to none chance that I'd get in.
I will probably apply anyway.... can't hurt! Then I will just reapply in Fall 2008 when everything is finished.
I'd consider going the UTA route..... in fact I already have a Bachelors, but I really don't want to take out a student loan!!!!
What are the pre-req's to apply at UTA? Or maybe I should ask.... what do you HAVE to complete in order to get accepted? (since TCCD states you only have to have your math credit, Anatomy I and Bio Chemistry to APPLY..... but as we all learn, it takes much more than that to be accepted!)
