Hey Guys,
As the title suggests I am Indian and I got accepted into the Accelerated BSN program at Michigan. I am worried about telling my parents about my future plans. My girlfriend and her family are really supportive and so are my friends (for the most part). Just wanted to see what people have to say.
Thanks.

Hey this is late but you have chosen an amazing program to be part of and I think your parents would be really proud of you, it might take a little time for acceptance but they will come around.
I have four Indian guys in my program and they are going to be amazing nurses in the future. I really hope you continue and succeed in nursing. Best of all for the future!!

I think if you just tell them the truth and explain that this is what your passionate about then in time they will understand. It might also help to explain the benefits of the job (flexible scheduling, job security in a rough economy, decent pay etc.) I am curious though when you post that you are "Indian" do you mean you are a Native American or from India. I just ask because different people use different terminology and I was just curious, it doesn't really matter I just I was just wondering from the cultural perspective.
